In 2010 the latest version, which was a complete revision, was released. This version included the ability to have customised solutions based on Risk Assessment, the 'Responsible Person' was defined, qualifications of a 'Competent Person' clarified and the environments for frequency of inspection and testing revised to be more usage based, rather than specific site based. In 2001 a further edition was published which had a number of significant changes and has since undergone considerable work continuing to mature into the 2003 version. It was again reviewed and a 2000 edition was published. This Standard started life back in 1990 as AS3760 and was revised and adopted by New Zealand in 1996 becoming AS/NZS3760. Its main goal is to ensure workplaces are safe by setting out recommendations in relation to testing 240V, 3 phase and low voltage electrical equipment. What Is AS/NZS 3760? The AS/NZS 3760 is an Australian Standard that oversees the Test and Tag industry in regards to electrical safety of portable appliances. Recently, our superior service and certification in our operation systems has seen Primecorp Test and Tag win the contracts for Test and Tag work of Local Councils Australia-wide.This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Committee EL 036 – In-service testing of electrical equipment to supersede AS/NZS 3760:2003 and its Amendment No. We currently provide our services across Australia in the following cities: Our technicians use the top of the range Seaward equipment and all hold a Testing and Tagging licence. Here at Primecorp, we can help limit the risk of these workplace accidents. It is the optimum way to prevent needless and tragic accidents, and the legal or financial consequences that may follow. Primecorp Test and Tag offer a well-planned programme of preventative maintenance, with regular electrical safety checks as its core. Thankfully many businesses are complying with the minimal Australian Standards AS/NZS 3760:2010, which clearly defines the requirements of routine inspection and testing of all electrical equipment.Įlectrical safety presents a significant legal issue, especially if Australian Standards have been ignored. Test and Tag is one step to ensure we are protecting our employees, customers and ourselves. As you are aware, OH&S is paramount to each and every one of us.
